Swamp Venom Deep South Seasoning is all about the South, and goes very well on traditional BBQ cuts...like ribs, chicken, pork shoulder, whole hog, brisket and steaks. Works well on fish, pork tenderloins, pork chops, nuts, sausage, and is a really nice addition to a pot of chili.
Based on influences all across the South, from New Mexico to Alabama, Swamp Venom has a punch of heat enhanced by a mix of deep south herbs, chilies and spices. This is a spicy rub!
Our favorite on:Ribs, pork, shrimp and catfish.
Swamp Venom from Dizzy Pig is a hot deep South BBQ seasoning. A deep south heat treat, with flavors found in both cajun and southwestern cooking. The vision was not a typical southwestern rub, but one that drew on cajun influences as well. But instead of typical cajun, they use different types of chilies and southwestern herbs like sage. Pork chops, chicken pieces, burgers, pork loin, catfish are a few things to start with.

In the world of barbecuing and grilling, (and in the kitchen) a rub is the blend of herbs, spices, sugars, salts and peppers that, when applied to a food's exterior and cooked, create that marvelous outer crust barbecue is famous for. A rub is an integral part of the entire cook, as it is the lead impression when you take that first bite of food. It can impart intense heat, mellow sweetness, lip-smacking saltiness or a 'What is that wonderful flavor?' uniqueness...sometimes all of these sensations coming from a single rub!
